Convocation Information for Faculty

GSAS welcomes Columbia faculty to take part in the Convocation ceremonies on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Baker Athletic Complex. Faculty walk in the academic procession and are seated on stage during the ceremonies.

Faculty RSVP

If you plan to attend Convocation, please RSVP here so we may send you important event details and ensure your access to Butler Library, which will be the assembly site for the academic procession (see below) and which will be closed to non-participants on May 12.

Academic Regalia

Faculty marching in the procession are asked to wear academic regalia. GSAS has a limited number of Columbia caps and gowns available; alternatively, you may rent regalia. If you will need to borrow or rent regalia, please RSVP here as soon as possible.

Doctoral Convocation
Faculty will assemble on the fifth floor of the Campbell Sports Center at Baker Athletics Completx (533 W 218th St, New York, NY 10034).

7:15 - 7:45 am (enter through the East door of Butler, near John Jay Hall). The procession will begin at 8:00 am. The ceremony will conclude at 9:00 am, followed by a reception.

Master’s Convocation
Faculty will assemble on the fifth floor of the Campbell Sports Center at Baker Athletics Completx (533 W 218th St, New York, NY 10034).

10:15 - 10:45 am (enter through the East door of Butler, near John Jay Hall). The procession will begin at 11:00 am. The ceremony will conclude at 12:45 pm, followed by a reception.
