GSAS Doctoral Access Fellowship
At Columbia, we recognize our fundamental responsibility to foster a community that reflects the full breadth of human talent and potential. Access to the pursuit of knowledge through graduate-level research is an opportunity that should be available to all who possess the skills and preparation to seek it. Yet, some individuals have been excluded from this endeavor by personal circumstances that must be acknowledged and addressed.
Award
The GSAS Doctoral Access Fellowship provides support to students who demonstrate how their educational opportunities may have been persistently limited by circumstance, and who seek to be in community with other GSAS doctoral students as a source of ongoing support.
Eligibility
GSAS invites all newly admitted domestic Arts and Sciences doctoral students to apply for this award, which comes with a one-time supplement to their original financial aid package. GSAS Doctoral Access Fellows would join a community of fellows across Columbia’s fourteen graduate schools, with access to a supportive network of peers, faculty and administrators, and bespoke professional development opportunities.
Application Process
All domestic applicants to GSAS doctoral programs receive an email invitation to apply to the GSAS Doctoral Access Fellowship immediately upon being notified of their admission to the program. Fellowship applications must be submitted by the date specified on the invitation, and no later than April 15 of the application year.
If you have questions or need help accessing your invitation to apply, please write to [email protected].
