Description: Dr. Dornell Pete is a tribal member of the Navajo Nation and an Assistant Professor in the Epidemiology Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Dr. Pete will discuss how she uses community-engaged research to study the causes of stomach cancer, including lifestyle, environmental, and pathogenic factors (e.g., Helicobacter pylori infections and the gut microbiome), in tribal communities to identify cancer prevention strategies and improve gastrointestinal health.
