ICE and Mass Deportation:  An Urgent Talk with Dr. Mae Ngai

The View From History

Where did ICE raids and mass deportation come from? From time to time, our Center sponsors urgent talks that bring clarity to scary and bewildering developments. This talk features the eminent historian of immigration, Columbia’s Mae Ngai, who will bring critical historical context to the current moment.

Ngai (Lung Family Professor of Asian American Studies and History, Columbia Univeristy, Bancroft Winner) is the author of several highly acclaimed books, including Impossible Subjects: Illegal Aliens and the Making of Modern America and The Chinese Question: The Gold Rush and Global Politics.
