As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, this exhibition looks back at how Columbia University marked the United States’ 200th birthday in 1976. While some events celebrated the role of the King’s College alumni in securing independence, others questioned the continuity and change in the national purpose since America's independence. Columbians found different ways to channel the Spirit of 1776. 

This exhibition will be on view through August in the Rare Book & Manuscipt Library, Butler Library, 6th Floor, 10am-4pm Monday-Friday
