Columbia University is proud to celebrate its continued partnership with Read Ahead – a fantastic nonprofit dedicated to helping New York City youth strengthen their literacy and social-emotional skills to thrive in school and beyond (Columbia mentors account for over 15% of volunteers from corporate and community partners). Read Ahead has allowed professionals and college students to connect with public elementary school students through mentoring relationships based on a love of reading, allowing volunteers to help children build connections, confidence, literacy skills, and more, through one-on-one sessions.
