Career Resources

GSAS alumni have access to a variety of career resources through GSAS Compass Graduate Career Development and across campus.

Columbia Library Access

GSAS alumni may apply for a Community CUID to enjoy free lifetime access to Columbia library services. You must also register on the campus registration portal to visit libraries on the Morningside campus.

Columbia Alumni Association Resources

In addition to the offerings below, the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) provides additional resources for alumni, such as discounts and free access to online courses on AI, machine learning, and robotics through Columbia+. Learn more here.

Columbia Online Alumni Community

The CAA hosts the Columbia Online Alumni Community, on which alumni can:

  • Search for alumni by name, graduation year, and industry, and message them directly
  • Join groups of alumni with shared professional and personal interests
  • Post job opportunities
  • Update contact information and email preferences

Alumni Email

Student LionMail email accounts do not expire, but the storage quota is limited to 5GB within 30 days of graduation. The CAA offers alumni free email (UNI and password required) with a customizable name @caa.columbia.edu. Learn more here.

Campus Access

For same-day access to the Morningside campus, alumni may register for a QR code on the campus registration portal.

Diplomas and Transcripts

The University Registrar provides information about requesting a transcript or a replacement diploma and more.

Auditing Courses

Auditing Programs administered by the School of Professional Studies invite adults to join the greater Columbia University community through select Arts and Science courses in subjects such as English, literature, history, religion, and philosophy, and occasionally offers a special auditing program just for Columbia University alumni.
