- Nicole Kiviat, doctoral student in Italian, wrote a chapter (titled “From Pizzaiola to Phenom: Viewing Sophia Loren through Food”) that will be published this year in the edited volume Eve’s Sinful Bite: Foodscapes in Italian Women’s Writing, Culture, and Society.
- Economics PhD student Andrew Olenski coauthored a paper published in the British Medical Journal about the nonexistent relationship between rainy weather and achy joints.
- Manpreet Kaur, doctoral candidate in Religion, was awarded a 2018-2019 Junior Research Fellowship from the American Institute of Indian Studies, allowing her to conduct archival and ethnographic research in India for her dissertation.
- Ethan Coffel, PhD candidate in Earth and Environmental Sciences, was quoted in a CBS article about how humidity could increase the threat to human health from climate change-related temperature hikes.
